The programs available in KKSP Foundation are reflected from the divisions namely :

Division of Education

Division of Education develops an educational model called alternative education. This educational model is developed to counter the present educational model, however, it is considered of beyond the actual needs of the children.
The alternative education developed by KKSP Foundation since 1988 previously developed a non-formal education for kindergarten. Currently, the alternative education is considered as an integrative educational model to:
1. Broaden the knowledge of children
2. Improving the character of the children
3. Improve the skill of the children.
This Alternative Education is carried out through two integrated approaches:

1. Alternative Education in Taman Kebajikan (Free School)
It is an alternative education model of schooling for the poor children (slum area, drop out, child labor and street children).

The main objectives are:
1. To develop character, knowledge and skill of the children
2. To design a model of alternative education
3. To introduce children perspective on the social sciences
For a school year, this program is participated by 30 children who stay and live in school area.
Activities are:
1. Providing the educational facilities such as building, dormitory, learning media and the venue of apprentice for students.
2. Identify and select the students.
3. Providing skill education such as sewing, carpentry, and agriculture (Based on children's need).

5. Giving the lesson of martial art, dancing, and theater training in the center of alternative education.
6. Monitoring the learning process of students in apprenticeship
7. Reporting the students' learning process and progress result.
8. Conducting evaluation on the learning process and the progress result.
9. Revise the education model and curriculum.

2. Alternative Education for Street Children
Started in 1990, KKSP runs Alternative Education for Street Children, by using the street and center based approaches. This program organizes and facilitates approximately 350 street children in four-locations e.g. Integrated Bus Station of Amplas, and Pinang Baris Bus station, Central Market of Sambu, Petisah market, Aksara Plaza and downtown locations. Most of the children come from outside of Medan. They work and live without any family's attention. Beside the lack of education, attention and love, they face so many violence's, either physically and non physically.
Alternative Education given to street children is an out of school education, where children could access many educational media available in Taman Kebajikan instead of learning in the class as in schooling system. Taman Kebajikan tries to introduce the principle of learning that does not recognize the space limit in its approach. The providing of learning facilities at Open house, Musical House, gallery and street based are carried out to achieve the actual objective of Alternative Education. The objective of out of school education is to develop character, broaden knowledge and skill, but still taking into account the principle of pluralism, participation and everybody is a teacher.

The approach of out of school education is implemented in the educational activities namely are:

5. Principles of Child participation and democracy
6. Labour Rights
